A father-and-son remodeling company in Orlando, built on the belief that the tile work is what people live with — so it had better be right.
Ricardo spent twelve years in Brazil selling health insurance before he ever picked up a trowel. He is from Espírito Santo, moved to Massachusetts, and eventually settled in Florida — where, five years ago, he opened Prime Home Specialist.
The company has worked across a range of home improvement jobs since then, but the last year and a half has been dedicated almost entirely to bathroom renovation. That focus was deliberate. Bathrooms are the room where craftsmanship shows most plainly and where cutting corners costs the homeowner the most — and tile, the discipline at the heart of every bathroom, is what this crew does best.
Today Ricardo runs the business alongside his son, who grew up between two countries, speaks fluent English and Portuguese, and is the person most homeowners talk to first. Every decision on a project gets made by the two of them together.
Ricardo built a career in health insurance in Brazil — twelve years of sitting across the table from families and explaining things plainly. That habit never left, and it is still how he handles an estimate.
The family's first stop in the US, and where Ricardo first began working in home renovation — learning American construction standards, materials and expectations from the ground up.
After moving to Central Florida, Ricardo registered the company and started taking on home improvement work across the Orlando area — windows, doors, flooring and remodeling.
The company narrowed its focus to what it did best: full bathroom remodels built around precision tile and ceramic work. Fewer trades, deeper expertise, better results.
Ricardo and his son run the business together and both work on the jobs. When you call Prime Home Specialist, you are talking to an owner — not a scheduler, not a salesperson, and never a call center.
Three things we will not trade away, no matter what the job is worth.
Waterproofing, substrate prep and slope are invisible the day the job ends and decisive five years later. We build those layers as if someone were going to inspect them, because eventually something will.
If a layout will not work, if a material is wrong for the space, or if the schedule is going to slip — you hear it from us before it becomes your problem. Honest three weeks beats a promised one.
Because someone does. Floors covered, dust contained, tools packed up at the end of the day, and the rest of the home left usable while we work.
We build for people who are going to live in the room. That choice shapes everything: the materials we recommend, the way we sequence the work around your household, and the fact that we are still a phone call away long after the invoice is paid.
It also means we are comfortable being told no. If an estimate is not right for you, that is a perfectly good outcome — we would rather be the honest second opinion than the company that talked someone into a project they regretted.
Book a free in-home estimate and we will measure the space, talk through tile and layout options, and leave you with a written price.
